John has worked in the social care sector for approximately 20 years. He began his social work career with Mencap before moving on to Surrey County Council working in residential and supported living settings and later working on a SCC Social Care Team as an assistant practitioner. He joined SILC in 2015 as an Independent Living Adviser which later incorporated the role of Health Complaints Advocate. He then worked back at Surrey County Council from 2020 as a support worker but has now returned to SILC as a member of our administration team. In his spare time John enjoys gardening, visiting National trust properties and looking after his Granddaughter.
