Maria Adaway

I decided to join SILC in 2020 as I feel its work is very important and worthwhile, and I can bring some transferable skills to the board. Two of my brothers have special needs, they have lived at home for most of their lives but are now living with another family as part of Shared Lives.

Professionally I have been involved in running our family business since 2007 and we have factories in Hampshire, China and Lithuania and distribution centres in France, Germany and Japan. My role includes looking after the accounts, HR for the Directors, properties, and investments. We also have a forestry company that I have sole responsibility for.

I live life to the full doing challenges such as trekking the Inca Trail, completing four sprint triathlons a skydive etc. If someone tells me, I can’t do something that will spur me on to try it.
