British Red Cross First Aid training sessions
Basic First Aid Skills Sessions at East and North Empowerment Board meetings in May.
The British Red Cross (BRC) has launched a UK-wide effort to ensure that there are people with current life-saving skills, including first aid, in every community. The Community Based First Aid (CBFA) service seeks to work with organisations to develop and deliver first aid learning sessions appropriate to specific communities and potential vulnerable groups. Two Empowerment Boards in surrey will host basic first aid sessions at their meetings in May. If the sessions are successful the sessions will be rolled out to other Empowerment Boards.
The British Red Cross will deliver appropriate first aid learning to clients of Empowerment Boards to build first aid life-saving skills within their local communities. This will help to build resilience to crisis and emergency in communities vulnerable to poor health, residential accidents and other related health issues.
If you live in East or North Surrey and available to attend training on the dates below then please contact Yasmin Broome, Delivering Empowerment Coordinator on 01483 517294 text 07812 104490 email yasmin.broome@surreycc.gov.uk
North Surrey – Tuesday 14th May 2013, 2-4pm at Hythe Centre
East Surrey – Monday 20th May 2013, 1.30-3.30pm at Orpheus Centre

Disclaimer for Employers
The P.A. Finder register is not vetted by SILC, nor has everybody on it been CRB checked.
It is the responsibility of the employer to check the skills and suitability of P.A’s advertising on it during the interview process.
Information for PA’s
We are NOT an agency or the employer and being on PA Finder does not necessarily guarantee that you will be offered work. We act a liaison between the direct payment user and you.
Each employer who interviews you will assess your suitability for the job, and will take up your references. Because each employer and each job is unique, you must be sure to ask any questions or raise any concerns you may have about the job at your interview. You will be required to provide your employer with the relevant information for tax and National Insurance purposes, and provide evidence of your right to work in the United Kingdom.
Employers routinely provide us with feedback on the candidates they interview.
We expect a professional respect for the work of Personal Assistants from all our applicants – even before they have been offered a job.
If we are notified that you have failed to attend an arranged interview without telephoning your apologies we will consider removing your name from P.A. Finder – even if it happens only once.
You must keep us up to date with any changes that affect your ability to work as a P.A. We count on you to let us know if your circumstances change – for example you have started work as a P.A and your hours of availability have changed, if your details have changed, or if you are no longer available to work as a P.A. You can always apply to re-join at a later date.
